[Notice] Team U.N.I.T. helps with Mentor Program

by UWO | Notice | Oct 29, 2012 05:37 PM

We at CJ Games Global feel quite strongly that you as players are in a position to really help us make this game better. We would like to invite you to work directly with us for this purpose.

Therefore, we would like to invite you, the players, to apply for our newly created Mentor Program, where you will work alongside our internal QA team to find and squish the bugs in the game.  This Program will be referred to as the Unified Nautical Intelligence Team, or UNIT.

Each Tester will be rewarded for their work (Netmarble cash) according to how much time they put in. The biggest reward, however, should be the fact that you are assisting in making the game better. We need dedicated and knowledgeable players who can find and report bugs to us so that we can iron out the issues and ultimately improve your gaming experience.

If you feel that you have the dedication, time and commitment for this role then please provide the information requested below in an email addressed to
UNIT-UWO@cjgamesglobal.com. Once you have applied, please be aware that the UNIT Team Leads review each application individually and we accept applicants in groups, so you may not receive a reply either way right away.

Thank you in advance to those of you who wish to help us in this way, it is greatly appreciated.

FAQ

Testing program questions-

What is this program?

This is a Program in which players can work alongside the Game Developers and QA team to improve the game. The Program enables players to be involved in testing current and new content where they will work as teams to find and report bugs.

Who is eligible to participate?

All players who are successful in their application will need to sign a NDA. By law this means that all Testers must be 18+ to be able to sign the document. The player needs to be an active player who has no serious violations on their player records.

Is there a minimum required amount of participation?

With each person in the Tester Program comes quite a bit of admin work. For this work to be worth the effort by our volunteers, we ask that Testers can give a minimum of 3-5 hours per week. Ideally we would like to see people with more time on their hands but we understand how busy life gets. When a player is busy in real life they just need to let us know and there will be no problem. If the period of time continues for a longer period then we might talk with the player and suggest that they just reapply when they have more time available again. We are pretty flexible.

Are there any rewards/benefits for participating?

Each week the Testers submit a Weekly Report Form (WRF). This literally takes a couple of minutes where they will tell us how much they have done and what specifically they were involved in regarding testing. Using this information they will be rewarded in credits to use in the cash shop. Items will also be given out to Testers. The basic principle for the reward system is “the more you put in the more you will get out”

Would participation have any affect on my characters in game?

Testers will be assigned characters that the Company control. They will not use their own accounts for the purposes of testing. Therefore there should be no changes in a player's personal character.

Why Xfire?

We had a need for a program that would allow us to create groups to manage our members along with the ability to create, and scale, large private chat rooms for all our programs, along wanting to have the option to open public rooms through which we might be able to interact closely with the general playerbase.  XFire fulfills all our needs, so we decided to use that.

Do testers get any in game powers like GM powers?

No, all Tester accounts will remain the same. The accounts that a Tester is assigned for testing on will not have any powers added to them.

Where can I learn more about a specific program? (list of, and links to, the programs?)

The application posts that are put up on the forums should give all the information you need to apply.

How can I apply to join?

Go to the application post and follow the instructions

I know a bug but I’m not part of the program, how can I report it?

There is a forum on the NetMarble site that gives players an opportunity to report bugs. They are then picked up by the Core team (Highest level of Tester) and passed on to the QA internal team.

I have a question that isn’t answered here, how can I contact you?

For general information on the Tester Program please make sure you have read the information we have posted on the forums. If your questions are still not answered then please contact Para directly at
UNIT-UWO@cjgamesglobal.com marking the email for her attention.
