Aide Duties
Aide and duties
You can hire an aide as a navigator, a lookout, paymaster, lieutenant, or a ship doctor.
Each responsibility has a different set of valid skills. You cannot hire two aides for the same purpose.
Aide and skills
Aides acquire support skills and aide skills as they develop. Support skills boost the user's skills by one point.
Type of skill Valid conditions Effects
Support skill Has the same skill as the user. The aide is hired for a job related to this skill. The user's skill rank is increased by one point.
Language skill The aide has the skill. Language interpretation
Aide Skill The aide has the skill. The aide is hired for a job related to this skill. Aide skills are good to use
Responsibilities and valid skills
Language skills are applicable to any responsibilities except Latin, Celtic, Hebrew, and Ancient Egyptian.

Chief Navigator
Sail handling,

 Automatic tow Can [logout after automatic tow] at ports. Automatic tow allows the ship to move to a set location while the player is logged out.
It requires an automatic tow skill for both the departing and arriving ports and the ship must be empty of cargo.
 Windbreak Can predict squalls by chance.
 Breakwater Can predict board side and high waves.
 Detour Can take precautions against seaweed

Lookout
Recognition,

 Correspondence Use this skill to correspond with NPCs with nationalities you meet at sea. If it is successful relationships with the country will improve (hostility will decrease).
 Reconnaissance Find out other user's skills, equipment, or cargo information at random. It can only be used again after sailing a certain distance.
 Surprise attack Use against stateless NPC. An NPC ship will wreak havoc engaging in combat. User can acquire rare items at a higher rate.

 Hebrew Language written in ancient scripts found on the Sinai Peninsula
 Ancient Egyptian Language written in ancient scripts of Egypt.

 Dodge cannon balls Weakens enemy cannon attacks.
 Enforcing gunnery Strengthens user's cannons.
 Restriction Prevents both ally and enemies from escaping for one to three turns in melee battles(successful by chance)
 Obstruction Incapacitates enemy item in melee battles (successful by chance)
 Pilfering Steals enemy funds, trade goods, or items by a small chance in melee battle (Not available for Vs. battles. Successful by chance)

 Dietetics May prevent scurvy and malnutrition.
 Prevention May prevent epidemics.
 Restful sleep May prevent insomnia.

 Shouting May prevent anxiety.
Training an aide
Aides gain experience points along with the user.
Even if the user's level reaches its limit (65) the aide still gains experience points from game play.
Designate a position for the aide and set sail.
The aide will develop skills as you play the game.
Aides can earn more experience points during the bonus days out at sea.
Users can earn 20 bonus sail days for one day of game play. Note that the numbers do not go over 200 days. Quota bonus will rise as user level increases. Also, the points do not go higher than 100 points.

Level Influence in acquiring skills. Delegate related position and set sail. The user's experience points will be added.
Aides need ten times the experience the user needs to level up.
